Tips from PresentVoices’ Leah Bonvissuto
Virtual spaces are here to stay, point blank period. After being thrown into this reality, corporations have had the time to let the dust settle and now need to intentionally choose to make these spaces inclusive, ensuring all voices are able to be heard.
We went Behind the Screens with Leah Bonvissuto, PresentVoices Founder and Communication Coach, to ask her what leaders can do to ensure that these virtual spaces become more collaborative and inclusive for all involved. She shared the four main pillars of virtual communication to make this happen:
-
- Clarity – we need to be able to hear people
- Consent – make sure we have permission to record meetings or take screenshots
- Inclusion – help people interact so that the most vocal people do not take over the conversation
- Confidence – the need for apologizing for things out of our control is over
