Inside Iron Horse: Meet Jay Jaime.

Read Time: 2 Mins

Inside Iron Horse is our employee spotlight blog series that takes a look at the people that keep this agency and our clients moving and growing. Join us in celebrating these remarkable people as we dive into their passions, talents, and motivations.

Meet our employee spotlight for April: Jay Jaime, Associate Designer! The Iron Horse family has been lucky enough to have Jay on the team for 11 years in varying capacities, and in every role and opportunity, he’s been a shining star. Not only is Jay a productive and intuitive member of our creative team, but he is also a big fan of music, comedy podcasts, and motorsports—who has crossed off driving on the Nurburgring from his bucket list.

When he’s not coming up with fresh, streamlined designs for our clients, Jay spends his free time cracking jokes and attending motorsports events, such as the Goodwood Festival of Speed and the 24 Hours of Le Mans.

What 3 words would you use to describe Iron Horse?

Dedicated. Passionate. Engaged.

What’s your favorite part about working at Iron Horse?

My favorite part about Iron Horse is the digital culture and the engagement we all share within the varying Slack channels.  Being able to ‘meet’ new coworkers hundreds/thousands of miles away and still feel personable through conversation outside work topics is really great.

What do you bring into every client relationship?

I bring dedication and creativity to our client relationships. I strive to provide them with a finished product that exceeds their expectations rather than simply meeting them.

What’s your favorite new marketing trend?

Material design… But when we get tired of it, the trend will revert to gradients and glass reflections.  Then flat colors and white space.  The cycle repeats itself every couple of years.

Who is the most influential person to you?

It’s sort of an amalgam of my wife, my family, and my friends.  They are great people I take note of and push me to want to be better in many dimensions.  Whether it pertains to my personal life or my career, I make little notes about adopting their ways and make them my own.

What causes do you care about?

I think that I gravitate towards things that benefit humanity and promote information essential for improvements across many domains, including; social justice with BLM, healthcare with pharmaceutical research and improving working conditions for healthcare workers, and the current war in Ukraine.

What book did you read last?

Last read: Left of Boom by Doug Laux
Current read: Escape from the Cretaceous by Benjamin Manarello

If you had to eat one meal, every day for the rest of your life, what would it be?

Tacos! You can never go wrong with tacos.

Most important question – does pineapple belong on pizza?

Sure.  Don’t yuck my yum!
